What the Body Already Answered

There is a specific kind of resistance that has nothing to do with doubt or fear, and I'm living it right now as I prepare for a certification that marks a real turning point in my career.

I've done the work. The analysis is solid. The rehearsal of the content done many times. Every person whose opinion matters has weighed in. Breathing techniques to align my best state of being.

And something — something below the reasoning — won't move.

Now I know, but for years I was convinced that this signal was called hesitation. Something irrational to override on the way to the rational answer. It wasn't.

The body processes eleven million bits of information per second. The conscious mind: forty. (Tor Nørretransen, The User Illusion)

The quiet tension in the chest before a difficult meeting. The stillness that arrives before you open the mic. The pull toward an idea or argument no one is yet naming out loud.

These aren't distractions. They are signals. Processed faster than thought. Often more accurate.

This is where feeling begins. Not as an emotion. As data.

The question I hear most in my work — and was asking myself — isn't "what should I decide?" It's "why can't I make myself do the thing I already know is right?"

More often than not — the body answered that months ago.

Friday is my certification final. I'll know what the body was holding onto by then.

When did you last pause long enough to hear what your body was already telling you? If the signal has gone quiet — let's find it together.
